Visa-free regime
Citizens of 85 countries can enter Kazakhstan without a visa for up to 30 days
Among them are the countries of the European Union, the United Kingdom, the USA, Canada, South Korea, Japan, the UAE and others.
For citizens of the EAEU countries — Russia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia — a stay of up to 90 days without a visa is allowed.
Visa by invitation
Citizens of countries that are not on the visa-free list need to obtain a visa at a consulate or embassy of Kazakhstan. To obtain a visa you will need:
- an invitation from the host party (a travel agency, hotel, private individual or organization);
- a completed online application via the Visa.mfa.kz portal.
Electronic visa (eVisa)
Travelers from a number of countries can obtain an electronic visa without visiting a consulate. To do this you need to:
- submit an application online;
- pay the consular fee;
- receive the visa by email.
The electronic visa is valid for entry through the international airports of Kazakhstan, including Nursultan Nazarbayev Airport in Astana.
Registration on arrival
If the length of stay does not exceed the established limit, foreign citizens do not need to undergo additional registration.
If the visit is planned for a longer period, the host party (a hotel or landlord) must notify the migration service through the egov.kz portal.
Additional information about visas can be found on the official visa website.
