Description
The Palace of Independence was solemnly opened on December 15, 2008, at the initiative of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev.
Its advanced infrastructure, high level of technical equipment, and professional management make it possible to host forums, congresses, meetings, conventions, and other events of both national and international significance. The modern interiors of the Palace harmoniously combine an official style with a comfortable aesthetic. Covering an area of over 40,000 sq.m, the building houses spacious halls and galleries. It consists of three floors. The first floor includes a congress hall, press center, ceremonial hall, oval hall, meeting rooms for bilateral negotiations, and a hall for festive events. The Congress Hall has witnessed many historic occasions. In addition to official events, the venue is perfectly suited for concerts, exhibitions, and celebrations. A unique feature of the Congress Hall is its transformable walls, which allow the space to be divided into four equal sections. The hall has a total area of 4,775 sq.m and accommodates 3,082 seats. It meets the latest standards in lighting and sound insulation technologies.
The second floor houses an art gallery. A special highlight is the model hall displaying the General Development Plan of Astana until 2030, which impresses visitors with a panoramic view and the city’s dynamic infrastructure. The model is located on the third floor of the Palace.
Visitors to the Palace of Independence are welcomed by one of the most prestigious landmarks of the capital, where political power, ancient steppe culture, and aspirations for the future are united in harmony.
