About the Excursion:
What to Expect
The Museum of Kazakhstan Railways invites visitors on a fascinating journey through the history of one of the country's most important industries. This modern interactive space combines historical heritage with multimedia technologies, engineering achievements and unique railway equipment.
During the tour, visitors will learn about the history of railway construction in Kazakhstan, discover the story of the legendary Turkestan–Siberian Railway (Turksib), and explore the contribution of Mukhamedzhan Tynyshbayev to the development of the railway industry. The route проходит through four themed exhibition halls dedicated to the evolution of locomotives, railway professions, modern technologies, and the history of Kazakhstan's railways.
Guests will see more than 250 authentic exhibits, including archival documents, railway workers' awards, tools, elements of railway infrastructure, and historical service and household items from different eras. Particular attention is drawn to the large-scale train models and real locomotives, some of which are open for visitors to explore. Visitors can step into a locomotive driver's cab, learn how a locomotive operates, and experience being part of Kazakhstan's railway history.
The exhibition is enhanced with modern multimedia solutions, including interactive panels, simulators, and AR and VR technologies, making the museum engaging for both children and adults. The museum also features a souvenir shop, a café, and a children's play area, ensuring a comfortable visit for the whole family.
