About the Excursion
What to Expect
Burabay, often called the Switzerland of Kazakhstan, is one of the country’s most picturesque destinations. Here, pine and birch forests rise among granite cliffs, while the lakes Burabay, Shchuchye and Bolshoye Chebachye amaze visitors with their crystal-clear waters. The region’s famous rock formations — Zhumbaktas (Sphinx), Okzhetpes, Ak-Zhetpes and Zheke-Batyr — are surrounded by legends about batyrs and khans, and your guide will share the stories behind each of them along the way.
The programme includes visits to the main viewpoints and natural landmarks of Burabay, as well as a visit to a maral farm — where you can see marals (red deer) up close, learn about their breeding, and in some cases try products made from antlers. The day ends with an entertainment programme and a set lunch at a local café or recreation centre.
Included: Astana–Burabay–Astana transfer; guide services; set lunch; visits to the region’s top locations; entrance to the maral farm; entertainment programme.
