What to Expect

Karkaraly is another natural oasis in the middle of the Kazakh steppe, known as the “Switzerland of Kazakhstan” alongside Burabay for its scenic landscapes and cool climate. Pine forests cover the granite mountains of Karkaraly, while the surrounding area preserves lakes, gorges and uniquely shaped rock formations.

The town of Karkaralinsk is one of the oldest settlements in the region. In the 19th century, it was an important district centre, and Abai Kunanbayev visited and stayed here. The route introduces guests to the region’s natural and historical attractions and concludes with a set lunch and an entertainment programme.
